Mami Wata (Halvorsen Cruiser)

Mami Wata is a classic timber motor cruiser built by Halvorsen in 1954 and fully refitted in 2023. She is 15.34 m long, with twin 220 hp Cummins diesels and a cruising speed of 8 to 12 knots. Aboard are a teak foredeck with sunpads and directors chairs, a saloon with a leather banquette, a galley aft and two forward cabins. Snorkelling gear, a stand up paddleboard, a kayak, fishing rods and a tender are on board. She takes up to 12 guests for a day and 6 overnight.

A day charter runs from 09:00 to 17:00 or from 10:00 to 18:00 from Royal Phuket Marina. Typical days are Phang Nga Bay, Krabi four islands, Rang Yai and Kai islands, or a sunset cruise on the Phuket east coast. The skipper, deckhand and hostess look after the boat, and the hostess cooks lunch aboard.

The full day charter (8 hours) costs THB 83,000 from May to November, THB 94,000 from December to April and THB 104,000 from 22 December to 5 January. A half day charter of 5 hours costs from THB 68,000, a sunset cruise of 3 hours from THB 41,000, and overnight charters from THB 170,000 for two days and one night, up to seven days and six nights.
