Cookie Policy
This Policy lists the cookies and similar browser storage used on siam-luxury.com, who sets them, why and for how long, and how you can refuse or delete them. It forms part of our Privacy Policy and applies to everyone who uses the website.
A summary for convenience. The numbered clauses below are what applies.
1About this Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy (the "Policy") is issued by Siam Luxury Adventure Co., Ltd. (Thai: บริษัท สยาม ลัคชูรี่ แอดเวนเจอร์ จำกัด), a limited company registered in Thailand under the Civil and Commercial Code on 6 July 2023 (B.E. 2566) with the Phuket Provincial Business Registration Office, Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, juristic person registration number 0835566027493, with its registered office at 88/384 Moo 2, Ko Kaeo Sub-district, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket Province, Thailand (the "Company", "we", "us", "our").
It explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on siam-luxury.com, its language versions and the subdomains open to the public (the "Website"), and applies to everyone who uses the Website (a "User").
This Policy forms part of our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data, which rights you have and how to use them. Capitalised terms have the meanings given there and in the Terms of Use.
This Policy describes the Website as it works on the effective date shown on this page. The internal systems that our team uses have their own cookies and are not covered.
2Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and reads on later visits. Local storage and session storage are similar areas of the browser where a website keeps data: local storage stays until it is deleted, and session storage is deleted when you close the browser tab. In this Policy, "cookies" also covers these technologies and the tags that send information about your visit to another service.
First-party cookies are set on our domain, siam-luxury.com, by the Website itself or by a service that works on it for us. Third-party cookies are set on the domain of another company, such as doubleclick.net. Session cookies end when you close the browser; persistent cookies stay for the period shown in The cookies and storage we use.
3Why we use cookies
We use cookies in five categories:
- (a)strictly necessary cookies deliver and protect the Website, keep Partners signed in and let a page recover after a Website update. The Website cannot work properly without them;
- (b)functional cookies remember your language, currency, favourites and what you typed into a booking form;
- (c)referral storage remembers the Referral Code in a link you followed, so that we can credit the Affiliate or Partner who brought you;
- (d)analytics cookies count visits and show us how the Website is used, through PostHog and our own visit counter;
- (e)advertising cookies measure contact clicks and sent forms that follow our ads and let us show our ads again to people who visited the Website, through the Google Ads tag.
Strictly necessary, functional and referral cookies rely on our legitimate interests in running the Website and our Affiliate Program and, where you have a contract with us, on its performance (sections 24(3) and 24(5) of the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019)). For visitors outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies rely on our legitimate interests in understanding how the Website is used and in measuring our advertising (section 24(5)). You can object to them and refuse them as explained in Your choices.
4The cookies and storage we use
The table lists every cookie and storage key that the Website sets, or lets another service set, on the effective date of this Policy. A name with "<project key>" contains the public key of our PostHog project, which begins with "phc_".
| Name and type | Provider | Purpose | Category | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __Host-siam_partner (cookie) | The Company | Keeps a Partner signed in to the Partner Account; scripts cannot read it | Strictly necessary | 14 days, or until the Partner signs out |
| siam:chunk-reload (session storage) | The Company | Records the time of an automatic page reload after a Website update, so that a page never reloads in a loop | Strictly necessary | Until you close the tab |
| __cf_bm, _cfuvid, cf_clearance (cookies) | Cloudflare, on our domain | Help Cloudflare distinguish people from automated traffic, apply request limits fairly to visitors who share an internet address, and remember that your browser passed a security check, where Cloudflare uses these features for the Website | Strictly necessary | __cf_bm: 30 minutes of inactivity; _cfuvid: until you close the browser; cf_clearance: 30 minutes by default |
| NEXT_LOCALE (cookie) | The Company | Remembers the language version you use when it differs from the language of your browser | Functional | Until you close the browser |
| siam:currency (local storage) | The Company | Remembers the currency you chose for approximate prices | Functional | Until you delete it |
| siam:favorites (local storage) | The Company | Keeps the Services you saved as favourites; the list stays in your browser and is not sent to us | Functional | Until you remove the favourites or delete the storage |
| siam:booking-draft:<category>:<id> (session storage) | The Company | Keeps what you typed into a booking form (name, phone, email, contact method and note) so that it is not lost when you go back to change the dates; it reaches us only when you send the request | Functional | Until you send the request or close the tab |
| siam:ref (local storage) | The Company | Keeps the Referral Code from a link with "?ref=" and the time you followed it; the code is added to your Booking Request, your WhatsApp message and analytics events, and a newer code replaces an older one | Referral | Used for 30 days; stays until replaced or deleted |
| ph_<project key>_posthog and ph_<project key>_posthog_cpm (cookies) | PostHog, on our domain | A random identifier of your browser and of the current visit, so that PostHog can count visits and link the pages of one visit | Analytics | 365 days |
| ph_<project key>_posthog and other keys beginning with ph_ (local and session storage) | PostHog, on our domain | The analytics state of your browser: identifiers, the current visit and tab, the page and source of your first visit, campaign parameters and any Referral Code | Analytics | Local storage until deleted; session storage until you close the tab |
| siam:visit (session storage) | The Company | Marks that this visit has been counted by our own visit counter, which records only the date and time of each visit | Analytics | Until you close the tab |
| siam:team (local storage) | The Company | Set only in the browsers of our team; it stops PostHog in that browser so that our own visits are not counted | Analytics | Until deleted |
| _gcl_au (cookie) | Google, on our domain | Links a contact click or a sent form to an earlier visit or ad, to measure our advertising | Advertising | 90 days |
| _gcl_aw, _gcl_gs and other cookies beginning with _gcl_ (cookies) | Google, on our domain | Keep the identifier of a click on a Google ad that brought you to the Website | Advertising | 90 days |
| _gcl_ls (local storage) | Google, on our domain | Keeps Google's advertising click and measurement data in the browser | Advertising | 90 days for each entry |
| IDE, test_cookie and other cookies on Google domains, such as doubleclick.net and google.com | Google's own cookies for advertising, measurement, security and checking that cookies work, read or set when the Google tag contacts Google | Advertising | Set by Google, for example IDE for 13 months in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom and 24 months elsewhere, and test_cookie for 15 minutes |
Some of these cookies are not set for visitors from Europe, as explained in Visitors in Europe.
5PostHog analytics and session replay
Our analytics service is PostHog, provided by PostHog, Inc. (United States), which stores the data in its United States cloud region. The Website loads PostHog through our own domain (the /ingest path), so your browser sends the data to siam-luxury.com, which passes it on to PostHog.
PostHog receives the pages you view, your clicks, scrolling and other interactions, technical details of your browser and device, the page that sent you to us, campaign parameters, errors and speed measurements, and your IP address, from which it derives an approximate location. We do not tell PostHog who you are, so it keeps your events under a random identifier and does not build a personal profile.
We use PostHog's session replay. It records how our pages looked and changed during your visit, including mouse movements, taps, scrolling and browser console messages, so that we can find errors and parts of the Website that confuse visitors. What you type into form fields is masked and does not appear in recordings. Other text and links shown on the page can appear in them, for example a prepared WhatsApp message that contains the details you entered.
We use this data to improve the Website and to learn which pages and campaigns lead to requests. Our team may look at the visit that led to a particular Booking Request for that purpose. The Privacy Policy states how long PostHog keeps the data.
6Google advertising tag
The Website uses the Google Ads tag of Google LLC (United States). The tag tells Google when a visitor clicks a WhatsApp, Telegram, phone or email link or sends a form on the Website, so that we can see which ads bring requests. It also lets Google add visitors to lists of people to whom we may show our ads again.
When the tag runs, Google receives your IP address, the address of the page, information about your browser and the identifiers in Google's cookies. The tag also records page views, scrolling, form use and clicks on links to other websites, and the address of such a link can contain your details, for example a prepared WhatsApp message.
The tag is set to detect email addresses and phone numbers that you enter on our pages and to send them to Google in hashed (encoded) form, so that Google can match the results of our ads with its users. Google calls this "enhanced conversions" and may keep the hashed data in an advertising cookie on our domain to link it to a later contact click or sent form in the same visit.
Google also uses data from the tag for its own purposes, such as personalising ads and improving its services, as it explains at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
7Visitors in Europe
The Website has no cookie banner, so it treats visitors from Europe differently:
- (a)for visitors whom Google places in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the Google tag starts with Google Consent Mode set to deny advertising storage, analytics storage, the use of data for advertising and the personalisation of ads. The Website asks for no consent, so these settings stay denied. The tag then reads and writes no advertising or analytics cookies, collects no hashed email addresses or phone numbers, and sends Google only signals without cookies, such as the consent status, the time, the browser type, the referring page, the page address and whether the visit came from an ad click. Google uses these signals to estimate the results of advertising in aggregate;
- (b)for visitors whose browser uses a European time zone (except the time zones of Russia and Belarus) or the time zone of Iceland, the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores or the Faroe Islands, PostHog keeps its identifier only in the memory of the page. It sets no cookie and no local or session storage, and the identifier is lost when the page is reloaded or closed. PostHog still measures the visit in this way, including session replay.
Google and PostHog use different signals. A visitor in Europe whose device uses a time zone outside Europe may still receive PostHog cookies, and a traveller whose device keeps a European time zone may not. The Company's own cookies and storage work in the same way for everyone.
8Your choices
The Website does not show a cookie banner or offer a consent tool at present. If we add one, analytics and advertising cookies will follow the choices you make in it, and we will update this Policy.
You can refuse or delete cookies and other storage in the settings of your browser. Most browsers let you block all cookies or only third-party cookies, delete the data of a single website, and browse in a private window whose storage is deleted when it closes. Deleting the cookies and site data of siam-luxury.com removes every item in The cookies and storage we use that is kept on our domain. Chrome explains the steps at support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647, and the help pages of Safari, Firefox and Edge explain them for those browsers.
To control how Google uses data for advertising, use Google's Ad Settings. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser stops the cookies on Google's domains.
The Website has no switch to turn PostHog off. You can stop it by blocking JavaScript for siam-luxury.com, or with a content blocker set to block requests to siam-luxury.com/ingest. You can also write to us and we will tell you how to switch PostHog off in your browser.
The Website does not respond to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals at present.
If you block strictly necessary cookies, Partners cannot sign in and security checks may stop you from using the Website. If you block functional storage, the Website forgets your currency, favourites and form drafts. If you block referral storage, a Referral Code may not reach us with your request; in that case, give the code to your manager.
You can also object to analytics and advertising cookies by writing to us, as described in the Privacy Policy. As these cookies are kept in your browser, the settings above are the way to remove them from your device.
9Content from other services
Some pages load photos from Unsplash and map tiles from a map service, such as OpenStreetMap or CARTO, directly from those services. When your browser loads this content, the service receives your IP address and browser information and handles them under its own policy.
Links and QR codes for WhatsApp, Telegram, LINE and our social media pages take you to those platforms, which use their own cookies under their own policies once you open them.
10Changes to this Cookie Policy
We will update this Policy when we add, remove or change cookies or the services that set them, for example when Cloudflare features or a consent tool change what the Website stores. The effective date on this page shows when the current version took effect.
